Paediatric First Aid Level 3

The 2-day Paediatric First Aid qualification is suitable for individuals aged 16 and above who work with, or care for, babies and children. These roles include teachers, nursery/pre-school staff, child-minders, nannies and au pairs who at any time are left in sole charge of a child or children.

This course is divided into two units, allowing learners to cover both action for emergency situations, and the necessary treatment for various other injuries or chronic conditions.

This certificate will be valid for 3 years although the HSE recommends annual refresher training.

The range of subjects covered on this course includes:

  • Primary survey
  • Secondary assessment
  • Resuscitation and defibrillation
  • Seizures
  • Choking
  • Wounds, bleeding, and shock
  • Bites and stings
  • Bones, joints, and muscle injuries
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Foreign body and eye injuries
  • Chronic medical conditions and illnesses

Emergency Paediatric First Aid Level 3

This 1-day nationally accredited RQF Level 3 qualification is recognised by Ofsted, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is aimed at those who care for children from birth to puberty. This course is appropriate for teachers, nursery/pre-school staff, child-minders, nannies and au pairs who at any time are left in sole charge of a child or children.

This certificate will be valid for 3 years although the HSE recommends annual refresher training.

The range of subjects covered on this course includes:

  • Role of the Paediatric First Aider
  • Seizure
  • Primary survey
  • Choking
  • Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
  • Minor injuries
  • Wounds, bleeding and shock
  • Recovery position

Family First Aid for Babies, Infants & Children

This 3-hr course is for any family member who spends time looking after babies or infants, ideal for new mums & dads, grandparents, older siblings (12+), Au pairs or babysitters.

Our Baby, Infants & Children First Aid course teaches simple; lifesaving skills helping to reassure and give confidence to those parents faced with first aid emergencies.

A certificate of attendance will be issued.

Mini Medics

Mini Medics is a very basic 3-hr introduction to First Aid and Defibrillation aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 12, but it can suit children of any age.

The course is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies and will show complete respect for the child's ability, make it educational and practical and instill the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured.

A fun and colourful workbook containing a certificate of achievement will be provided along with refreshments. All instructors hold a full valid DBS certificate.
